Naturally, no one wants to hear both the translator and the speaker at the same time when there is a simultaneous translation. Therefore we broadcast in stereo! There are elaborate video lessons or guides on how to do this under the Broadcasting Explanation page (go back to the Harimedia main menu and find it there) but for those who can handle simple written directions, you can adjust who you listen to as follows:
For PC users: While watching the broadcast you can choose to hear the lecture with the Russian translation or you can listen only to Hari by setting the balance all the way to one side. To change the balance in Winamp, click on the little text 'config' which is just to the right of the volume slider. When that window opens, just under the play button, there is a slider. Now it is set to the middle. If you move it to the left, you will only hear Hari, if you move it to the right, you will only hear the translator. If the sides are switched, you have your speakers configured backwards or your headphones reversed. If you wish to hear only a little of Hari and a lot of the translator, move the slider part way to the right till you have the desired mix.
For Mac users: Go to system preferences. Click on the Sound icon. Go to Output and you will see a Balance slider bar near the bottom. Move that bar to either side to balance English or Russian. If your speakers are set up correctly, moving the bar to the left will enable you to hear exclusively English while moving it to the right enables you to hear exclusively Russian.
Grandma's Old Country Wisdom for Speaker Balancing: Put the speaker you do not want to hear in the desk drawer and close it! Alternatively, move it away from your ears or cover it with something soft and dense!
